Last night I out in the middle of no where, 333ft underground at the Cumberland Caverns in McMinnville, Tennessee. A couple hundred people gathered in the caves to see some amazing performances for the Bluegrass Underground featuring The Civil Wars.

Some of the highlights of my night were… arriving at the caverns and getting “the crappy seats” for showing up late, only to realize we were sitting right behind Joy Williams & Paul White of The Civil Wars — being able to have a chat, without fans swarming them for a picture. Joy complimenting my leather jacket and her having on a similar one.

Walking outside of the cave for some fresh air, while  and Mike a member of the production, offering us a ride in his cart… saying “Paul White just sat in this seat, he signed it. See?” Drove us to our car, so I could fill up my flask and Mike drove us back to the cave again.

Sitting on the cave wall looking at the crowd below… the sound of The Civil Wars & their flawless vocals filled the cavern.

A night I won’t soon forget.
